2024 Nomads Garden ‘Yurilla Vineyard’ Fiano, King Valley
THE WINE
Yurilla Vineyard sits on the valley floor and is a warmer site for the King Valley, a perfect fit for Fiano, which originally hails from Campania in Italy and needs some warmth to bring up ripeness in line with its acidity.
Peter’s vineyard is always meticulously kept and it was no surprise to us that he had no trouble navigating the many curveballs that were thrown his way with the weather in 2024. The fruit that was delivered to us in the winery had the perfect numbers we look for in Fiano and was squeaky clean. We are firm believers that good fruit is the key to good wine.
The wine displays an abundance of tropical fruits and lychee on the nose that follow through to the palate. Refreshing acidity balanced with a touch of residual sugar that is barely noticeable causes this wine disappears from the glass rather quickly.
