Single Vineyard, Wild Ferment, Low Intervention Wines
There is a path that leads, for those willing to venture, to a garden that we call home. Without leaving our mark, we walk this path; nomads, exploring the diverse beauty of North East Victoria.
Made by North East Victoria
We create low intervention, single vineyard wines by hand, utilising wild yeasts & a simple winemaking process.
Our wines are made with fruit sourced from the five distinct, recognised wine regions of North East Victoria: King Valley, Alpine Valley, Beechworth, Rutherglen & Glenrowan. We are based right in the middle of these five regions, in the small village of Eldorado.
Meet the winemaker
Ben Dahlenburg is the winemaking talent behind Nomads Garden.
After graduating from Environmental Science in 2011, Ben’s interest in winemaking was reignited (he grew up in a winemaking family!) during a working holiday vintaging in Napa Valley in California, and South Africa. Returning to Australia, he completed his Masters in Viticulture and Oenology at CSU, spent time learning from winemakers in the Mornington Peninsula, before moving back to his home town of Eldorado in North East Victoria, where he managed the vines, helped make the wine with dad Paul, and poured wines in the cellar door, for the family winery, Eldorado Road.
In 2017 Ben and his partner Ellie established Nomads Garden to explore natural and low intervention methods of winemaking, while maintaining quality and affordability.
